Marlboro Classics offers tribute to the allure of denim through the development of a special range of clothes called ‘Authentic Denim’. This is because denim - timeless fabric forever telling the user’s own story, getting better, richer in magic year after year - embodies Marlboro Classics core values.
Thus the Marlboro Classics Basic Collection includes a series of items extra high in quality and design. The aim is to meet the needs of a consumer looking for both novelty and excellence.
“While the items will be part of the basic collection, with comparable label, they’ll have a particular packaging making them easily distinguishable for the consumer”, explains Paolo Vazzoler, Director of the Marlboro Classics Division of Valentino Fashion Group S.p.A. “Another attribute of this project is the sense of continuity, with a variable number of launches during the year. Lastly, distribution will be selective: only primary monobrand and upscale multibrand locations will carry the clothes”.
To make the 5-pocket jeans and the work-jacket, Marlboro Classics turned to a storied textile company: Cone Mills, established in 1895 in Greensboro, North Carolina, leader on the world denim market. This is denim woven exclusively on traditional looms with 100% U.S. cotton.
The new range presents three different models of jeans:
- New Orleans: in neps denim (typical early 1900s weave), with miner wash for quite an “earthy” look.
- Monroe: with rodeo wash, for a slower process of wear&tear.
