( The huge, green, fluffy trees in South Carolina that I'm obsessed with)
I finally made it home from South Carolina about 25 hours ago after a 14 hour car ride. Yayy!! I'm excited to be home, but a break from this quaint town was just what I needed this Spring Break. I had loads of fun with my beloved cousins and aunts in South Carolina, and I have a ton to say about the trip.
The car ride down actually seemed longer than the car ride home, despite the fact that we took a break over night in a hotel. I kept myself occupied by watching the Lion King, Hairspray, playing Wheel of Fortune, taking mindless pictures with my little brother on my laptop, and listening to my Ipod. Oh, and did I mention that I had a blast belting out the lyrics to songs from Mama Mia, Glee, and Wicked along with my mother and grandmother while my brother watched in horror?
A lot of my free time in South Carolina was spent taking bike rides. I loved it! Here at home I don't have a bike, and its not like there is anywhere to go, so biking down there perfectly suited me. My favorite part of those rides were the big trees that you would ride under, and the big hills on the gold courses surrounding my aunt's house.
While down south, I also got to go this place called Menchies. Menchies is a place where you can create your own frozen yogurt sundae, which is right up my ally. The place had a long line of a variety of flavored frozen yogurts (I picked Chocolate and Cookie Batter), along with tons of candy toppings (I chose Twix, Oreo and fudge pieces). The inside of Menchies was bright, and there was even a big chalkboard painted onto the walls ( which I took advantage of by writing my name multiple times on followed by big exclamation points and smiley faces).
Charleston had to be my favorite part of the trip. The town was so fascintating to me. Everyone there was so stylish, and all the girls were in pretty dresses paired with adorable shoes. King Street was lined with tons of designer stores that held clothing items that I won't be able to afford in the lifetime. But, hey, they were great looking at! I managed to drag my family into Charleston's Forever21 (which I loved!), and I walked out with a pair of black leggings, an olive mineral washed tunic with a chain necklace and waist tie, and heeled tan sandals (they were on my wishlist!). Ben and Jerry's was fabulous since icecream is my favorite food, and I also got to eat some fabulous French Toast and Red Velvet cupcakes from Cupcake!
Overall, my trip was amazing and I can't wait to (possibly) visit again this summer! But now it's time to get back to reality, start blogging more often, and return to school in four days.
