Jazz Age Lawn Party

This weekend, Alex, Toby and I took the ferry over to the Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governor's Island.
A jazz band played old-timey tunes, and there was a tug-of-war, pie contest and Charleston lessons.
People dressed up in fabulous 1920's ensembles--lots of pearls, suspenders and straw hats. (I, of course, wore a nursing shirt:)
Toby mingled with the dapper crowd.
And this girl wore the most fabulous swimsuit (which she had made herself). Yowza!

Carrying illegal sub stance is strictly not allowed, regardless of your status in life. That is what Paris Hilton is experiencing right now after she caught with illegal possession of illegal drugs. Not just ordinary drugs but cocaine. Paris Hilton was caught in Las Vegas. According to the report, Paris Hilton was with her boyfriend when they were pulled over by Nevada police after they were suspecting sniffing marijuana because smoke was coming out from their vehicle. When the police stopped Paris Hilton's car, they inspected the car and found cocaine in good number. Paris Hilton and her companion were immediately escorted to the police station for further investigation. Paris Hilton immediately called her attorney and Paris Hilton was released immediately.

Old Spitalfields Market: Antiques Day

When I was a little boy early on Friday mornings my dad would often take me to the Bermondsey Antiques Market, which fascinated me. Especially, as I had been told that under some obscure medieval English law the traders were allowed to sell "dodgy" and stolen goods (See: Marché ouvert).

Ever since then I have loved antique markets and I now continue the tradition with my one-year-old Arthur, taking him to antique markets. Above and below, some of those traders at the Spitalfields market and a short movie about a new evaluation programme Old Spitalfields Market is pioneering, which I thought may interest you...

Christina Hendricks: The New Face of London Fog

Iconix Brand Group announced that Emmy Award-nominated actress Christina Hendricks will appear in its London Fog brand's fall marketing campaign.

Hendricks stars in AMC's award winning series, Mad Men, and was recently named "Best-Looking Woman In America" by Esquire magazine. The multi-media marketing campaign will debut in October issues of fashion and lifestyle magazines such as Elle, Cosmopolitan and InStyle, outdoor and online.

Christina Hendricks stated, "London Fog is a classic brand, which I love. It also ties in to Mad Men, we used London Fog in the show and this was a nice way to tie everything together. The trench is such an iconic shape for men and women. It works for anyone - it worked in the 1960s and it works now."

Hendricks was chosen for the London Fog campaign for her glamorous and sophisticated persona. The alluring black and white campaign features Hendricks posing seductively in London Fog outerwear and accessories. The campaign was created by the Iconix in-house marketing team and shot by photographer Nino Munoz in Los Angeles.
