End of reign of mighty Pharaohs?
Cash is flowing out of bank ATM's, cars are streaming freely down the city streets - grocery stores are open for business - as Egypt prepares for a "promised" transition of power to culimate in fair open elections in the fall.
Though President Obama was quite adamant this past week that self-styled beleaugered "Dictator" President Mubarak must step down - it is doubtful at this juncture that he will kow-tow to America's demands.
For many, the full-scale resignation of key members of the National Democratic Party on Saturday - including Mubarak's son - was a good sign, however.
But, critics and political pundits on the global, speculate that the region may be vulnerable to political ideologies in conflict with U.S. interests and the "free world" in general.
For example, some worry that the Muslim Brotherhood lurking in the shadows may pose a serious threat.
Others - pooh-pooh the notion - and are quick to point out that the known radicals represent a mere ten percent of the vote - and so - are incapable of securing a serious foothold in Egypt in coming months.
Meanwhile, a breath of fresh air has swept over the Nation, instilling confidence and hope for Egypt's future - and, in particular - the upcoming elections.
God willing, there will be open elections in the fall, that will usher the troubled Nation into the arms of a welcome democracy that is just and fair and liberating to all its people.
Amen!
