TONIGHT: Save The SF Eagle Meeting

As I noted yesterday, San Francisco's venerable Eagle Tavern is scheduled to close at the end of the month. Tonight community activists will meet to discuss "strategies for fighting the Eagle's closure, as well as the ongoing crisis of loss of gay property ownership in San Francisco and the continuing erosion of our iconic gay bar scene." Readers are emailing this weekend to report that staffers at San Francisco's Eagle Tavern are telling patrons that the iconic Sunday beer bust hangout will be closing in two weeks. Last January a local website reported that the building was for sale and provided the below rendering of what may be built at that location. Man, I'm gonna miss that dump.

Once again, Scarlett Johansson, one of the most internationally-famous Fashion models, will feature in the new MANGO winter campaign. This is the third time the actress has launched the firm’s new designs since she became the face of the brand last year.

A typical London residence was the setting chosen by MANGO for the photo shoot, in which the actress once again posed before the camera of Mario Sorrenti. The prestigious photographer, who has collaborated with MANGO since Scarlett became the face of the brand, succeeding in immortalising the more elegant and romantic side of the actress. Jane How was responsible for the styling, while Lucía Pieroni and Oribe, respectively, were responsible for make-up and hair styling.

In this new collection, MANGO takes a fresh look at the timeless classics of British country style: trench coats, double-breasted jackets and tailored coats, without forgetting, in knitwear, the basics and thicker garments with a handmade look.

The carefree combination of these traditional garments is evocative of the late 70s. Tweed, corduroy and leather, together with sheer silks and touches of gold, create a contrast between the masculine and the feminine, giving new meaning to the classics.

Fashion experts predict that this trend will rule the first quarter of 2009. Deep V-neck shirts have been a classic neckline for men, but current trend is taking it plunged to new depths. This will be the favorite fad of men for the year. Plunging necklines in men's cardigans, polos, t-shirts and sweaters will create a lot of variation in dressing. 'V' in the neck is going to be big, with a deep cut. This style will be more popular among youngsters who do weight-training.

Micro Patterns:

A revival of the fashion of the 70s, an attractive combination of micro patterns will be seen in formal dresses, especially in men's coats. Trousers will be tailored with micro pattern will be in vogue.
